Hiring Landscapers? Beautify Your Garden On A Budget

Possessing a scenic garden is the dream of every homeowner. Everybody wants a front yard that is the envy of their neighbours. A beautiful garden is the physical manifestation of a happy home. In addition to its visual appeal, it serves the useful purpose of raising the overall value of the house should you ever decide to sell it.
Before you rush to hire landscapers, check out some of the ways to re-work your garden on a budget.

Shape your garden
Shaping your lawn is not just a cheap way to beautify your yard. It is also one of the easiest ways to do it. Simply cut the grass into a shape such as a circle, an oblong or a square. Before starting, mark out the contour with a string. Then, using a spade, cut the excess shrubbery away. This is not a very tedious activity and can be completed within a single afternoon. In fact, you can do it yourself and not hire a landscaper for the job.

Use great-looking plants
A cost-effective way to fill up your flowerbeds is to use good-looking plants. One option is to use perennials that can be divided. Contrary to popular belief, you do not require an expert gardener to plant them. Use clump-forming perennials such as Geums, Geraniums or Astrantia. Take the plant out of the pot and divide it into 2 or 3 parts. Make sure each bit has some root and stalks. Plant each part separately in the flowerbed. The following year, take these parts out again and repeat the process. Within a few years, you will have a blooming collection with negligible monetary investment.

Plant trees
Owing to their longevity, trees are inexpensive purchases. Thanks to their size, only a handful of them can significantly better the look and feel of your garden. Some of the trees that you could buy for your garden include Crab Apple, June Berry, Prunus or an Amelanchier Lamarckii.
